Pioneer teamed up with artist Atsushi Harata to make a film that represents the ethos of their TORAIZ instruments which are designed to evoke inspiration and spontaneous improvisation whilst DJing. The mesmerising moving art piece is accompanied by Frederic Robinson’s song ’25 Yards’, released on Med School Music in 2016. We’re ecstatic to announce four new signings to the Songs In The Key Of Knife family – each of them clinical producers pushing the boundaries in their respective fields:
Egoless is an analog mixing desk wizard who makes melodic and seriously heavy dubstep. Championed by Mala and with releases on some of the scene’s most crucial labels, his dub-tinged productions have been making waves across the globe for some time. We’re delighted to be working with this Croatian king of bassweight.
Teddy Killerz are a neurofunk supergroup consisting of producers Garud, Place 2b and Paimon. Together, they’re responsible for creating some of the most ferocious sounds in drum & bass and have quickly amassed a cult following which includes Liam Howlett among their ranks. Beware, they don’t play nice.
4lienetic is a musician and producer who we’ve been watching for some time and it’s great to finally have his talent on board. Based in Mumbai, he creates emotive piano music and ambient soundscapes that are perfect to unwind to. His production skills and ear for melody are impeccable and we’re really excited to see what he creates in the near future.
Dexta is a London-based producer, DJ and label head. His experimental productions are based on the foundations of drum & bass but take influence from a wide variety of sounds and genres to morph into his own unique style. One to watch.
Inja and Pete Cannon’s high-octane track Intro features in the new UFC 235 trailer for the Jones vs. Smith and Woodley vs. Usman fights. Listen to the full song on Inja’s 2018 album Blank Pages.
In collaboration with Microsoft Studios for the release of the critically acclaimed game Forza Horizon 4 for Xbox One and Windows 10 PCs, Hospital Records and the Songs In The Key Of Knife writers are releasing a first ever exclusive and bespoke soundtrack for the game. Featuring as an in-game radio station in a Forza Horizon game for the third time, Hospital Records now also presents 20 exclusive and original tracks produced solely for Forza Horizon 4.
Contrary to popular belief Keeno does not have a license to kill, but he got one step closer with “Jungle Ballad” featured in the reveal of Aston Martin’s latest supercar: The DBS Super Leggera.
Microsoft revealed Forza Horizon 4 at this years E3 – we’re delighted to see the soundtrack behind the Drive Sequence as produced by Fred V & Grafix.
A Hospital family favourite, Emer Dineen’s sublime lyrical work is intertwined through various projects, most notably one of the mainstays in London Elekticity’s live D+B orchestra project – The London Elektricity Big Band, and various releases from Hospital veteran Logistics as well recent signing and soulful D+B maverick Mitekiss.
We here at Songs In The Key Of Knife are truly ecstatic to be able to induct Emer Dineen within our roster.
From the tender age of 15, this London native has been sculpting his sound through the exotic experimentation of other diverse genres that eventually lead him to a steady heartbeat of 170BPM. After the heavy yet steady output of his tracks into the world of D+B, movement on the Mitekiss front began to pick up momentum when ‘Void’, a free track on Skankandbass caught the attention of Shogun Audio head honcho, Friction. This instantly lead to a string of releases across labels such as Shogun, SGN:LTD, Chase & Status’ MTA and more, garnished with support from various acts, including Hybrid Minds on their tear-out UKF mix.
A man of action who currently runs both his own business and co-runs his own label Goldfat Records, we’re very excited to see the what Mitekiss brings to the Hospital and Songs In The Key Of Knife family, and the new heights to which he’ll take his sound!
Few artists master a pioneering sound while keeping true to the roots of the craft. A foundation of jungle influences remain rampant in their production and DJ styles whilst moulding a new D+B movement. Serum, Voltage and Bladerunner have become figureheads individually but together they are much more than the sum of their parts. They are Kings Of The Rollers.
The exceptional rise of the Kings Of The Rollers collective is nothing short of remarkable. As solo artists they’ve released music across some of the scene’s biggest labels including Hospital Records, 31, V, Metalheadz, Ram, Low Down Deep and Reinforced. Their pedigree is clear and the quality even more so.
With Kings Of The Rollers signing exclusively to Hospital Records early 2018, Songs In The Key Of Knife will also look after the publishing interests of the Kings Of The Rollers collective output.
We are excited to announce a number of new guns to be added to the Songs In The Key Of Knife family.
Our first announcement is songwriter: Degs. With a strong R&B and Hip Hop influence, his songwriting and MC’ing soon took a soulful turn proving the adaptability and musical prowess of this accomplished songwriter. Degs draws upon an a broad set of lyrical forms, fusing fast sprays with harmonious singing.
Another lyrical mastermind we welcome to the family is Inja. Artist, MC, Poet, Father, Chef. Spanning genres and pushing art in its most primordial of forms wherever possible, Inja is a true talisman of the underground UK music scene.
Our final announcement is the signing of new kid on the block Unglued. The enigmatic Unglued is the proud owner of 2018’s most sought after dubplate in drum & bass. His bootleg of High Contrast’s anthem, ‘If We Ever’ has had everyone talking, catapulting him straight into the stratosphere of the D+B elite.
